Amomum Villosum Extract Powder(Sha Ren) Function and Efficacy Recorded in TCM
Sha Ren has the effects of dispelling dampness, appetizing, warming the spleen, stopping diarrhea, regulating qi, and calming the fetus. Used for obstruction of dampness and turbidity, epigastric distension without hunger, spleen and stomach deficiency and cold, vomiting and diarrhea, pregnancy obstruction, and fetal restlessness.
Dampness obstructing qi stagnation syndrome
It is commonly used in combination with magnolia and white cardamom to treat dampness obstruction in the middle burner, bloating in the epigastric region, and loss of appetite.
To treat spleen deficiency and qi stagnation, abdominal distension, loss of appetite, and soft stools: can be used equally with Muxiang, Zhishi, and Baizhu.
Vomiting and diarrhea
To treat vomiting and diarrhea caused by spleen and stomach deficiency cold, it is often used equivalently with aconite and dried ginger.
It is suitable for treating food related stomach cold, vomiting and diarrhea, and is equivalent to dried tangerine peel, clove, and wood incense.
Pregnancy obstruction and fetal restlessness
For the treatment of pregnancy qi stagnation, nausea and vomiting, inability to eat, or fetal restlessness, it can be used alone as loose powder, or equivalent to perilla stem and Atractylodes macrocephala.
It can be used in combination with ginseng, Atractylodes macrocephala, and Rehmannia glutinosa to treat qi and blood deficiency and fetal restlessness.
